OCEAN is the sweetest of girls who’s so affectionate, calm, gentle and just plain adorable. She’s spayed, microchipped, vaccinated including rabies and she’s been given a clean bill of health by the vet. She is a mixed breed dog and it looks like she has some sort of terrier in her especially with her coarse fur and it also looks like she has Husky in her too.
She’s crate trained and will sleep in it all night without a peep. She’ll also go in it during the day just to chill out as she knows that’s her safe place. She loves to play with toys and run around with her favourite big stuffie and throw it around. She came down south from Fort Hope and no doubt she never had anything for herself before so we think that’s why she loves that stuffie so much. She does chew up her toys so rubber indestructible ones are best for her.
OCEAN walks well on her leash and loves to go for long walks. She would love an active family who has a love of the outdoors and walking just like she does. She loves to be outside and run around in the snow so a fenced in yard would be ideal for her. She’s in a home with no other dogs and can be reactive when she meets another one on her walk so we would recommend training for her to teach her to get along with other dogs. She hasn’t met a cat but she does have a high prey drive so a cat free home is also recommended. We feel she’ll do well with children as she’s such a friendly girl and she loves people so much.

OCEAN is house trained and knows to ask to go outside for the bathroom. She has had no formal training at all but she has picked up on all the basic commands very quickly including sitting for her meals, she’ll sit there looking at you until you tell her to go ahead and eat. She is food motivated and has been known to take food off the counter and once ate a package of her favourite chicken treats right off the counter (who can blame her for that one though?) That is being worked on with her and she hasn’t done it again in quite some time.

OCEAN was very emancipated when she came into rescue and was definitely neglected. She’s come such a long way since being in foster care and has gained weight and a ton of confidence. She’s now at 40lbs and we really don’t know what her potential weight will be and although we stated she should reach 45lbs she could certainly be as much as 50lbs.
If you are interested in meeting OCEAN then please fill out an adoption application for her.
