BUDGIE the Bulldog is neutered, UTD on vaccines including rabies and Bordetella and he’s also microchipped. Not only is he a handsome boy but he’s also energetic, playful and snuggly. He was surrendered to a Pound through no fault of his own and got a “Freedom Ride” to a rescue to help him find his new family. 

BUDGIE could be called the stuffie monster as he loves to run around with one in his mouth and then throw it up in the air to play catch with it. He also loves to play fetch with a ball and will run around and play with it for quite some time. We are requesting a fenced yard for him so he can run around and play like he loves to do. He was tested in the Pound with caged cats and they noted that he wasn’t too bothered in them at all. He may do well with cats if they’re dog savvy and they’re introduced slowly and with supervision. As far as we know he’s not been around children so for that reason we’re saying no children under 12yrs of age. 

BUDGIE is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night in it. He will also go in it during the day just to hang out as he knows it’s his safe place. He’s housetrained and will let you know when he has to go outside for the bathroom break. He’s great with other dogs and he’s currently in a foster home with another Bulldog and they became fast friends the minute they met. It’s felt he’d be better off in a home as an “only child” as he plays really hard to the point of getting himself out of breath. Either that or he could be with a calm, placid dog who isn’t too active and energetic with him.

BUDGIE walks really well on his leash and loves his walks and hikes in the woods. An active family would be ideal for him as he needs lots of daily activity and mental stimulation that his walks will give him. He takes treat very gently from you and he has no food aggression at all. His foster sibling had an antler she was chewing on and made a little growl at him to let him know to stay away and he backed right off. He knows basic commands but obedience training is recommended to help him bond with his new owner. 

BUDGIE was born with what we’re referring to as a “wonky spine” and as far we know, he surgery isn’t required. He also doesn’t take meds of any kind as he has no pain at all. We do have his radiology report and X-ray that can be sent to your vet for review. This condition does not slow him down at all and he’s just as active as any other Bulldog his age. He doesn’t walk with any noticeable limp but he does have a unique gait to him. The only time anything is noticeable that something’s going on is when he runs or when he comes downstairs. A home without stairs for him to climb when going outside is definitely recommended.
