SONGBIRD hails from Shamattawa and came south with her 5 siblings in search of her forever home. She’s had her second set of vaccines, microchipped and been deemed healthy by her vet and ready to go to her forever home. She’s an affectionate outgoing puppy who loves to snuggle up with you and just be by your side. She had 2 other dogs in her previous foster home so is well socialized and happy to be around other dogs. She has met a cat in the home she’s currently in and she just wants to play and chase it. The cat has never met a dog so isn’t sure what to make of being chased and also doesn’t seem to like it. A cat who is dog savvy would be the best fit for her and one who would let her know they don’t appreciate any unwanted attention. SONGBIRD’s ideal home would be with an active family for her who will take her on long walks and hikes to give her the exercise she needs. She’s crate trained and will sleep through the night in it without a peep, she’ll also go in there by herself during the day as she knows it’s her safe place to be. Housetraining is still a work in progress but she is good at using the bathroom whenever she goes outside for her walks but she’s just too young to let you know she needs to go out. She has been around young children but like all puppies, she does tend to excitedly jump up on them so for this reason, we’re saying children aged 6 years plus.

SONGBIRD’s mum is a black lab mix of about 50lb but we have no knowledge of her dad. She does look like she has Collie/Lab in her but definitely a guess on the Collie breed. She does have little freckles on her nose and her paws just like a collie and that’s one of the reasons we think that breed is in her. To say she’s going to be 50lbs is merely an estimate as again, we have no knowledge on dad or even grandparents, even saying she’ll be medium sized is just a guess. She’s at that stage where her ears can’t decide if they want to be “stick up” ones or not and they seem to change which way they face from week to week and it will be interesting to see where they end up. She’s an energetic puppy who loves to run around and play with toys and especially likes the Nyla bones as they help with her teething. We do require a fenced yard for her so she can run around and play outside and stay safely enclosed.

As with all our puppies, we do require you to get them obedience training to help them be the best they can be. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and will be performed by 6 months of age and we need you to be in agreement with that in order to adopt her.
