|
SANDALS hails Cat Lake and she came down south in search of her forever home. She is spayed, UTD on her vaccines including rabies and microchipped. She has a great dual personality just like her eyes. She’s this calm, easy breezy, sassy, happy-go-lucky, sleep anywhere kind of girl but also has a spunky, sassy, ready for anything playful puppy side. Best of both worlds for this girl.
SANDALS will be your running mate, hiking companion on those trails or your couch snuggler while you watch Netflix. She will also be your swimming partner as she really enjoys being in the water and swimming in the lake is one of her favourite things to do. She travels excellent in a vehicle and took a road trip all the way to Nova Scotia with 2 other dogs in it. She met lots of new people and dogs of all kinds there and just had a blast. She loves her people and wants to be around them all the time so she doesn’t like to go in her crate during the day and she lets you know that. She will sleep in it quietly all night though and just wait for you to get her out in the morning. She is housetrained and has not had any accidents in the home.
She has 2 other dogs in her foster home and they have now warmed up to her but it did take them a week or so to do so. We do require a fence yard for her so she can run around in it and be kept safe. She’s very strong on her leash and does pull on it at the start of her walk but once she settles down and gets over her excitement, she does stop pulling and walks nicely on it. Leash training is definitely recommended for her to help her understand what’s expected of her on her walks.
SANDALS ideal family is an active one to take her in big walks, long hikes and lots of adventures including camping. She’s still young and has lots of energy but as long as she gets lots of exercise then she’s a very happy girl. She hasn’t met a cat so if you have one they would have to be dog savvy and introductions cautious and slow. She’s met children and just loves them and we recommend children for her of 6 and up and one’s who understand the boundaries that should be set out with a new dog in the home.
SANDALS was surrendered to a vet in Dryden by her family due to her hind leg being caught in a snare. Luckily she didn’t break it but she did have to have it splinted for a few days. She was favouring her leg a bit when she first arrived in rescue as it had just happened a few weeks prior to her arrival and she’s walking on it just fine now and no further treatment is required.
If SANDALS sounds like the girl for you and your family then please put in an adoption application to meet her.
