BUTTERNUT hails from Cat Lake and was being looked after by the community after his owner died. One day he was found with burns on his body and luckily he was taken to the vet straight away and had them treated. His fur was shaved off and away from the burns and they’ve now healed up nicely and his fur is gradually growing back in. He’s neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and deemed healthy by his vet and ready for adoption. The breeds we have him listed as are purely a guess based on the look of him.
BUTTERNUT is a very laid back, chill kind of guy who moves at his own pace. He enjoys his walks but would rather lay on the couch or at your feet and relax. He’s very good on his leash and walks at a nice leisurely pace. He is crate trained and will take naps in it but due to his age, the door is left open for him so he can go in and out at his leisure. He’s housetrained and has never had an accident in his foster home. He loves to wander around the yard so a fenced in one is recommended for him.
BUTTERNUT’s foster home up north had several cats and a dog in it so he can live with either. However there was a biting incident with a dog in his recent foster home and he had to be moved to another foster home. The details of which will be discussed in detail in the phone interview about him. He does like the chew toys he finds around the house and will take them outside to play with other than that he doesn’t bother with any toys. His ideal family would be a nice quiet one and one without young children to bother him and want to play with him. He does need his exercise just like any other dog and with having it regularly, he should become a lot more active and work his way up to having longer walks and eventually nice hikes through the woods. He’s good in a vehicle and does travel well.

If the chill Mr BUTTERNUT sounds like he’ll fit nicely into your home then please fill out the adoption application to meet him.
