About CAPTAIN MORGAN | |
|
|
CAPTAIN MORGAN hails from North Spirit Lake and was found as a stray suffering from a severe case of Mange. Our rescue took him on as a medical case as we just couldn’t resist those eyes and they were begging for help. He has received vet care for the Mange and his coat is growing back beautifully now. There’s no on going care for the Mange as it’s caused by microscopic mites under the skin and they’re killed off with flea and tick treatment, which he’s receiving. He’s neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and had a clean bill of health from his vet. We have no knowledge of his parents so we’re going with a Husky mix for him as that’s what he looks like. He is just a little guy and we don’t see him being much bigger than what he is right now.
CAPTAIN MORGAN is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night without a peep, he’ll also take his naps in it during the day. He’s housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He’s doing well with his leash walking and he loves to go on them too. He’s in a foster home with a few dogs of various sizes and gets on great with them all. He goes on pack walks with them through the woods and just follows their lead. He’s looking for a home with at least one other dog as we feel that would suit him best. He’s such a gentle boy who loves praise and attention, he’s also very loving and has finally gotten over his fear of people so everyone us greeted with a tail wag.
He loves playing with toys and wrestling with the little Weiner dog in his foster home. He has good manners and knows a few basic commands like “sit” “paw” and “stay.” he also takes treats “gentle.” Obedience training is still required for him to make him be the best boy possible and it will also help him and his new owner form a bond.
CAPTAIN MORGAN is in a foster home where someone is home with him most of the time so his new home should be similar. He would also like them to be active and love the outdoors like he does. He would want them to take him on trail walks, hikes through the woods and let’s not forget that he travels well in a vehicle so would always be up for an adventure or two. He’s such a calm boy and although he’s never met a cat it maybe possible for him to be with one providing they have a monitored introduction and the cat is dog savvy. He hasn’t met young children so we’re recommending they should be 10 and up. He requires a fenced in yard so he can run around and play in it and be kept safe.
If you’re interested in meeting CAPTAIN MORGAN then please put in an adoption application.
