|
THUMPER came from Slate Lake which is a Northern Ontario community and he came south in search of his forever family. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and been deemed a healthy boy. We’ve been told one of his parents was a Golden Retriever but no information on what the breed could be for the other one but at a guess, we think possibly German Shepherd. Seeing as we don’t know both parents the size he’ll grow to be is just a guess too. He’s a gentle quiet boy who’s being fostered with his brother and 2 resident dogs and they all get along very well.
THUMPER is just starting with his crate training as he’s been sleeping in an x-pen due to him being quite skittish when he first arrived. He has been settled in the pen though and sleeping quietly through the night in it. He’s housetrained and will let you know when he has to go outside for the bathroom. He loves to go on walks but would benefit from some leash training so he understands what’s expected of him when leash walking. He loves to play outside in the yard and run around with the other dogs so a fenced yard is required for him. He has a cat in his foster home and he’s not bothered by him at all but they haven’t met face-to-face at all so we would only recommend a home with a dog savvy cat in ur and they should not meet under strict supervision.
THUMPER is very playful and loving. He already loves his foster mum after just a short while being with her. He wants nothing more than to be with his human so we would prefer him to go to a home that has someone who’s home most of the day. He loves any toy he can find to play with and enjoys chewing on the rubber toys he has. A quiet home would suit him best also as he is quite sensitive having not been exposed to too much noise and being a bit jumpy when he hears loud noises. He does know some basic commands like sit, stay and will take his treats “gentle.” He does love his food and eats alongside the other dogs in the home with no problems at all. He hasn’t been exposed to children so we are recommending they be aged 10 plus and be caring and respectful to dogs.
If THUMPER sounds like the boy for you then please submit an adoption application to meet him.
