PLUM hails from Wunninum Lake in Northern Ontario and came south along with her 2 brothers, Mango and Banana to find her forever home. She’s had her first set of vaccines, a microchip and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. This girl is the quiet one in the bunch and she’ll be the last one to try something new but she’s full of love, super friendly and just a purring machine who loves to be cuddled and loved.
PLUM has used the litter box since day one in foster care as she’s a very smart girl. She loves to eat and drink her water nice cold. Chasing crinkly toys around is one of her favourite pass times and she also loves to play with the cat tail toys. She’s definitely one of the most charismatic cats around too as she loves attention and knows just how to get it from you. She’s in a foster home with dogs and puppies so would suit a home with a dog as long as the dog is cat savvy and a slow, monitored introduction is made. Children should be aged 6 plus and be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.
Edit: after Plum being in foster care for about 3 weeks and having no idea about this, we were very surprised to be told by our vet that Plum is blind. Our vet also advised us that kittens can suddenly develop their sight. There’s no way of knowing if this will happen to her so her adopter would be adopting her as a blind kitten with no expectation of her sight developing. It’s okay to have hope though as we at the Rescue certainly have it for her. Our vet also advised us that she would benefit most from being adopted with one of her brothers, Mango or Banana so we’ll not let her be adopted without either one of them joining her in her new home. They are posted on this site and can be found by going through the list of available pets for adoption.
PLUM’s spay will be performed at 4 months of age and is already booked for November 12th. We do need her adopter to be committed to her spay being at that age as part of her adoption agreement. It can be done at her adopters own vet clinic and the rescue will reimburse what we would’ve paid for it at the Barrie SPCA. However, it would still have to performed in the same timeframe to receive the reimbursement.
If you would like to meet PLUM then please put in an adoption application to do so.
