|
OMEGA hails from the northern community of Pikangikum and came south with her brother, Cartier to find her forever family. She’s had 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We have no information on either parent so the breed she’s listed as and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based on what breeds she look like. This happy little girl never stops wagging her tail and is a perfect combination of snuggles and energy. She loves being around her people and playing with her many dog toys and chewy bones. She also lives to chase ice cubes across the floor.
OMEGA’s crate trained and will sleep quietly in it all night and also take naps in there during the day. House training is going really well but she will still have the odd accident so it’s basically still a work in progress. She’s just starting to go on walks and like all puppies, she pulls on her leash and excitedly tries to run ahead of you. She’s at a chewing stage right now as she’s teething so she has several chewy toys plus Nyla bones to keep her teeth busy. She’s very good with eating her meals with other dogs around and also taking treats. She knows some basic commands and will sit for her meals and takes treats “gentle.” She’s a very smart girl and picks up very quickly on commands and seems to always know what’s expected of her.
OMEGA’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. She gets along very well with the other dogs in the her foster home and she’s very social with the ones she’s met so far so would be a good companion to another dog. She has 2 cats and kittens in the home and will often just stand there wagging her tail at them but she’s now starting to chase them to play with her. Children should be aged 6 plus and be gentle and loving towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard to keep her safe while she runs around and plays.
Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her become a well mannered and good girl. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a cone or onsie after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were fixed that same week.
If OMEGA sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.
