RIVIAN
RIVIAN hails from Constance Lake and headed south to find her forever family. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. She was found all alone with no other family around so the breeds we have her listed as and the weight she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. She’s an active, super sweet young lady abbd she gets very excited when meeting other dogs and even people. Her foster said she’s never known such a good puppy as her before even though she’s an active girl.
RIVIAN is house trained and she knows she’s to take her bathroom breaks outside. She’s crate trained and will sleep quietly in it at night and also take naps in it during the day. She loves to go on walks and gets to go on several during the day. She has lots of toys she plays with and is quite happy when she has a bone to chew on. She ‘s. Very social and has a few dogs in her foster home and she really enjoys playing with them so would definitely suit a home with one. She was recently adopted to a couple with a cat and things didn’t go well so she was returned to the rescue therefore we’re saying no cats in the home for her. She has been around children and they all love her and if there’s any in the home then they should be aged 10 and up.
RIVIAN’s ideal family would be an active one who’ll take her on lots of walks, hikes and make her a big part of the family. She travels well in a car so she’d love to go where you go and that includes adventures, camping and trips to the lake as she loves to go swimming. She will need a family that’s committed to take her to puppy training school so she can learn to be the best girl possible. Leash training is definitely something that should be included in the training as well.
If RIVIAN sounds like the perfect girl for your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

CRICUT
CRICUT is a local surrender and we had his 4 sisters back in November last year and they were known as the Craft Litter. They were all Calico's so he is in fact part Calico. He’s neutered, vaccinated including his rabies shot, microchipped and has been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. He’s just getting used to being in his foster home and getting used to the other cats around him. He was an only cat in his previous home so he’s not used to sharing his space with others so is a bit timid with them but on the whole, is adjusting very well to his new environment. He’s already exhibiting how loving and friendly he is in the way he’s coming over to his foster for head and chin scratches.
CRICUT is litter box trained and has been since he came into foster care. He’s very chill and quite happy to be playing with his cat toys and chasing the little balls around. He loves to relax in the cat tree and will happily sit there by the window and watch the wildlife outside. He loves his food and treats are always on the menu for him or at least so he thinks. He’s a bit wary of the resident dog but as he didn’t live with one before he is slowly getting used to him being around. He should do well with a dog in his new home as long as the dog is cat savvy. We strongly recommend the dog be introduced to him slowly and be leashed until they become well acquainted with one and other. He’s warming up to the other cats slowly but surely so we feel he would do well with another one in the home but he can be an only child as long as he’s not left alone for long periods of time. He’s lived with children so would be a good fit to a home with them and we do require them to be aged 6 years and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals.
If you love the sound of CRICUT and you think he’d fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet him.

TURMERIC
TURMERIC is from the Thunder Bay area and came south with her sister, CORIANDER, to find a loving family. She’s spayed, vaccinated including her rabies shot, microchipped, had NexGard and been deemed a healthy girl by the vet. This loveable, playful little lady was super friendly the minute she came into foster care and was going to her foster for pets right away. She’s very playful and will chase her sister up and down the cat tree which just so happens to be her favourite place to hang out and also have a nap. She can also watch all the wildlife outside through the big picture window when she’s in the cat tree so that’s one of the reasons it’s her favourite place to be.
TURMERIC is litter box trained and started using it as soon as she came into her foster home. One of her favourite past times is to play with all sorts of cat toys and chase them across the floor. She enjoys her kibble topped with some wet food and so far she’s liked everything she’s tried. She’ll suit being in a home with another cat as she did come from a hoarding situation with lots of cats living together. We’re not sure if she’s ever met a dog and she’s not with one in her foster home but if there’s a cat savvy dog in her new home they should get along. We do recommend a slow monitored introduction while the dog is secured on a leash for the safety of the cat. Children should be age 6 plus and be kind, caring and loving towards animals.
If TURMERIC sounds like she’d be a good fit in your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

CHIVE
CHIVE hails from the Northern community of North Spirit Lake and came south with her siblings Basil, Dill & Sage. She’s received her first vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. The litter were found all alone with no mum so her breeds and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based on what she looks like. She’s an active little lady who loves to run around and play with her siblings and chew on her teething toys. She’s very outgoing and adventurous but also very snuggly and loves to sit in your lap.
CHIVE is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will nap in it during the day too. House training is still a work in progress and she will go on newspaper in the home if she isn’t taken outside quickly enough. She’s just started to go on walks and she’s a quick learner with leash walking and she’s slowly learning that she can go to the bathroom while outside too. Walking sometimes can be a bit slow as she loves to pick up sticks and chew on them along the way. She has good manners and will sit for her meals and take her treats “gentle.”
CHIVE’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’ll do well in a home with other dogs as she’s fostered with several of them and they all get along. She’s also fostered with 2 kitties and is very curious about them and will sniff them but not much else. If there’s a cat in her adoptive home we recommend a slow and monitored introduction while she’s leashed. She should do well as an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play.
Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spayed by the time she’s 6 months of age. The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the spay requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of her (preferably in her onsie or cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.
If CHIVE sounds like she’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

ANISE
ANISE hails from the Northern community of Mishkeegogamang and came south with her siblings (Cardamom, Fennel, Saffron & Zout) to find her forever family. She’s received her first set of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and her wellness check deemed her a healthy girl by her vet. We have a picture of their mum and she’s a white Husky of around 50lbs and we can only assume dad was a Lab due to the colouring of her and one of the other puppies too. Dad’s breed is just a guess though and we really don’t know his breed or what his size was. This laid back, chill little girl is one of the bigger ones in the litter and has a lovely soft coat that’s a mix of white, blonde and cream colouring. She loves to play with the many dog toys she has in her foster home and she has a Nyla bone to chew on to help with her teething.
ANISE is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is still a work in progress and she will go on a pee pad in the home if she isn’t taken outside quickly enough. She’s just started to go on walks and it’s slow going as she has never worn a collar or leash before. She’s also slowly learning that she can go to the bathroom while outside on her walks too.
ANISE’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive and especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’ll do well in a home with another dog as she’s fostered with one and being a puppy, she should adjust well with a dog sibling. She hasn’t met a cat but if there’s one in the home that’s dog savvy then they should get along. We always recommend a slow and monitored introduction to other animals in the home while the puppy is leashed just as a precaution. She should do well as an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play.

DILL
DILL hails from the Northern community of North Spirit Lake and came south with his siblings Basil, Chive & Sage. He’s received his first vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. The litter were found all alone with no mum so his breeds and the size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based on what he looks like. He’s an active little guy who loves to run around and play with his toys but will also chill out and watch TV with his foster mum and his favourite show seems to be the “Young and the Restless” and he’s really good at not passing judgement. He’s as smart as a whip and thriving really well in his foster home. He’s a clumsy puppy and when he comes running to you, his big thunder paws will make you laugh.
DILL is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will nap in it during the day too. House training is still a work in progress and he’s learning that outside is the place for his bathroom breaks. He’s just started to go on walks and he’s been a quick learner with his leash walking and he’s slowly learning to walk nicely on his leash. Walking can sometimes be a bit slow as he loves to pick up sticks and chew on them along the way. He loved to splash around in the paddling pool so we’re pretty sure he’s going to enjoy being around water and swimming. Due to being the super smart little guy that he is, he was very easily trained to have good manners and will sit for his meals and take his treats “gentle.”
DILL’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on hikes and walks in the woods. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He’ll do well in a home with another dog as he’s fostered with one and he enjoys the interaction. He hasn’t met a cat but seeing as he’s just a puppy he should do well with one as long as there’s a slow and monitored introduction while he’s leashed for introductions. He should do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving and gentle towards animals. He does require a fenced-in yard so be can be kept safe while he has a run around and play.
